Do you have hope for your marriage? This is the first week of advent, when we focus on hope in Christ. But today I want to turn that around a little bit. The success of your marriage is closely related to the quality and object of hope for your marriage.
Wedding vows in sickness and in health … those vows we took when we were such babies. We were madly in love, eager to get started adulting. The wedding vows were dutifully repeated before God, family, and friends. We had no idea what we were promising.
Bounce is funny. When catastrophes occur, I seem to bounce back fairly well. It’s clear to me that God will get me through anything. But those little annoyances, the disturbing interruptions that plague my day like buzzing mosquitos … they’re not so easy for me to plough through.
