My common soul is the uncommon cradle of Jesus. How very courageous of you, Lord, to entrust this precious Gift to me!
Spiritual Rebirth
When we make a decision to believe Jesus loves us and was willing to die so that we might live with Him forever, we are spiritually reborn. Even if we don’t feel any different, everything changes. Jesus’ Holy Spirit comes to live in us, and we are “reborn.” In a sense, Jesus is born into me.
What was true of the Virgin Mary in the historic introduction of God’s Son into this earth is true in every saint. The Son of God is born into me by the direct act of God; then I as a child of God have to exercise the right of being always face to face with my Father.
Oswald Chambers
When the angel Gabriel visited Mary and told her that she would be the mother of Jesus, he described this powerful act of God.
Gabriel answered, “The Spirit of Holiness will fall upon you and almighty God will spread his shadow of power over you in a cloud of glory! This is why the child born to you will be holy, and he will be called the Son of God.”
Luke 1:35 TPT
The Holy Son of God is ‘born’ into me at my spiritual rebirth. I pray that innocence, simplicity, and oneness with the Father will be the uncommon cradle upon which Jesus can lay His head.
Spiritual Life
Jesus didn’t wait to come until the broken world was perfect. He came to bring perfection into the broken world. He came to bring true, abundant, thriving spiritual life to us. It’s a gift that fits us for Heaven, but is enjoyed here on earth.
Be near me Lord Jesus I ask you to stay. Close by me for ever, and love me, I pray. Bless all the dear children in your tender care, and fit us for heaven, to live with you there.
Lyrics to Away in a Manger
When I invite Him, He comes to my broken, common soul to make me perfect. He’s content to lay in the messy hay for as long as it takes.
